Diego Maradona Dies at 60
Argentine football legend Diego Maradona died at the age of 60. Maradona had a heart attack at his home in the San Andres neighborhood of Tigre City, Wednesday morning, November 25.
Argentine newspaper, Clarin confirmed this news. Before dying, Maradona underwent treatment to treat withdrawal syndrome. The treatment was also part of Maradona's recovery from alcohol addiction.
Withdrawal syndrome is a series of physical and psychological symptoms experienced after a person quits alcohol dependence. Maradona previously underwent emergency surgery on Tuesday, November 3 for a subdural hematoma or blood clot in the brain.
Maradona, who won the World Cup with Argentina in 1986 and is considered one of the greatest players of all time. In his retirement, Maradona had frequent bleeding in the hospital over the years.
Many of his illnesses were caused by Maradona's irregular lifestyle. The 60-year-old former Barcelona, Napoli and Boca Juniors player also nagged to leave the Buenos Aires clinic where he was operated on.
