US Presidential Election: Trump Doesn't Accept Losing, Files Second Lawsuit in Michigan
WASHINGTON DC, KOMPAS.com - The campaign team to win back the incumbent president of the United States (US) Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit in federal court in Michigan. The lawsuit was filed in an attempt to prevent the state in the Midwest region from approving the final vote count for the presidential election (pilpres) until allegations of irregularities were addressed, according to local media on Wednesday (11/11/2020).
It is the second lawsuit filed by the Trump campaign team in Michigan. Earlier this month, the judge rejected a similar lawsuit.
The new lawsuit is thought to have little chance of influencing the outcome of the voting in Michigan, which has shown Democrat Joe Biden winning by about 145,000 votes over Trump, according to The Hill.
Trump's campaign team has also filed lawsuits in the states of Georgia and Pennsylvania since Election Day on November 3 and said it would press for a recount in Wisconsin.
The southern US state of Georgia will carry out a statewide recount of election ballots, Georgia State Secretary Brad Raffensperger announced Wednesday.
According to local media, Biden excels in these states, and Trump's campaign team has so far failed to provide concrete evidence of widespread fraud despite Trump's claims.
